Photo Analysis

There are three variables of photography, they are camera angle, lighting, and proximity.

Camera angle is how the camera is placed, authors use this to change the way people look at the image. Like if it is above the subject to show what the subject is doing, or if it is like at eye level to make it seem more formal and professional.

Lighting is how the lights a placed and how bright or low it is, authors use this to change the way the picture looks to the person looking at the picture. Like they can make it dark and scary, or they can make it bright and seem happy.

Proximity is how close the camera is, authors use this to make the picture seem more nicer or if they want to make it seem ore dramatic. Like some authors would do what's called an 'extreme close-up' to make the picture focus on the subject and make is look nicer, or they can do a 'medium long' shot to show all the things and make it see more dramatic depending on whats happening in the picture.

1950 ... Mr. Ike!

I think the author would like us viewers to feel that Mr. President Eisenhower is a good leader.

The camera angle that the author used would be eye level, I would say the author used this kind of angle because the author would like to make Mr. President Eisenhower look like he is a leader and responsible person.

The lighting that the author used would be lit from the side and lit from above. The author used these kinds of lighting to make him stand out more and to make him seem like he is a leader.

The proximity that the author used would be 'medium long'. The author used this proximity to show us that he isnt a lazy President, by that I mean like if he's just sitting it would be like he doesn't really talk with the people and all he does is sit there, having him stand shows that he is willing to talk to everybody and will always be helping everybody.

The picture is effective by making me feel that  he is a good President. I feel like he was a really good President and he was very loyal to everybody.

"Party Rock Anthem-Kia Soul Hamster Commercial"

This advertisement is about the car brand, Kia, and about the famous song writers, LMFAO. They have used LMFAO's song, Party Rock Anthem. The advertisement first starts with like a war going on, then a random Kia Soul car shows up and interupts the fight. Then there are these three hamsters that get out of the car and then start shuffling to the song "Party Rock Anthem" by LMFAO, then everybody else starts shuffling too and the hamsters then just drive off leaving everybody shuffling.

The techniques of persuasion that I think are used in this commercial are the following;

Humor - The three Hamsters shuffling to Party Rock made me laugh a lot.

Nature -  The war was like in a deserted town.

Cartoon - The Hamsters and the other characters that were fighting.

I would say Humor is the most dominant technique used in the commercial because just having three hamsters shuffling and then having everybody else that were fighting join in too was really funny.

I would say they used Humor because usually having people laugh gets attention, Nature to show that the car is able to drive off road, and Cartoon because having another one of those commercials just showing the car driving around would be boring, so they switched it up and made it Hamsters driving.

I would say this commercial is pretty good at persuading the viewer because the commercial is very unique and funny. But I don't think the viewer would be thinking about the car that much. I'm pretty sure the viewer would be to interested in the dancing and driving Hamsters.

Techniques of Persuasion

Persuasion - A way to make you feel or think of an idea in a certain or different way.

The most commonly used techniques of persuasion are;

Humor - Funny or amusing images that make the people laugh.

Macho - Strong, tough, muscular - usually males. Sometimes carrying weapons in a dangerous situation.

Friends - A group or groups of people having fun together with their friends, usually doing fun stuff together.

Family - Father, Mother, Brother, Sister, usually in a house or just outside all together.

Fun - Everybody is having a good time, lots of smiling. Usually pictures of people together having a good time doing fun things.

Nature - Mountains, trees, ocean, rivers, etc. Sometimes has people in the event.

Sexy - Focuses on physical attributes of models; usually females. The females may usually be wearing revealing clothes or be shown flirting through body language or the way they act.

Cartoon - People or animals drawn in an animation, usually doing unrealistic ideas, or just doing some funny stuff.

Celebrity - A person who is recognizable and is very popular, usually actors, singers, and athletes.

Wealth - Expensive items that are used, such as big houses, jewelry, clothing, and money.

Big Brothers / Big Sisters .

Hello there! The subject I chose that relates to "Helping Others" is "Big Brothers / Big Sisters" .

                                                              By Victoria Charko

"Big Brothers / Big Sisters" is an organization that would like to show young kids that they can have the ability to succeed. What they do is get a person that is over 18, then they assign them to a younger child through the ages of 6-18. You can do anything you want with them, play sports, help them with school, pretty much anything that will make them happy.

"Big Brothers / Big Sisters" was founded in 1907 in America. From there, the "Big Brothers / Big Sisters" organization grew larger and spread all around the world. They have been helping children for over 100 years already, and they have proved that what they do really does work.

5 things that prove that "Big Brothers / Big Sisters" is helpful to others (children) would be:

  • " more confident in their schoolwork performance" - What they mean by this would be that instead of them being scared to join in on what the teacher has planned, they would feel more confident and join in.
  • "able to get along better with their families" - What they mean by this would be how usually they would probably sneak out or ignore their parents but now, with the Big Brothers / Big Sisters Organization, they show how important a family is.
  • "46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs" - With Big Brothers / Big Sisters, they tell them that drugs aren't good for your health and can kill you.
  • "27% less likely to begin using alcohol" - The Big Brother or Big SIister would tell all the kids that alcohol is bad, and that it can ruin their health.
  • "52% less likely to skip school. " - and lastly, they tell the, that education is very important to have.

I would say "Big Brothers / Big Sisters" is a very good organization, they show a lot of kids that they can do anything as long as the try and believe. They also show kids that drugs, and skipping school are not good, and that education is very important.

"ARE GUT BACTERIA IN CHARGE?"

Reading this really opened my eyes. I thought about it so much. This post is about how bacteria in our gut could be controlling our lives more then we thought it could.

The Researchers made tests to mice to see if it was true. Mice that have gut microbes tend to eat more then mice with out gut microbes.

"Experiments have shown that mice with no gut microbes show differences in how much they move and in their anxiety-like behavior than mice with normal gut bacteria. Mice treated with "probiotic" Lactobacillus bacteria showed a different gene expression in the brain, reduced anxiety behavior and stress hormone levels than untreated mice" When I read this, I was surprised by how important gut microbes would be for mice/us. Without it, we would diffidently be very different.

Like it says up there, "bacteria in out guts may play a well beyond helping us to digest food' I find this really interesting because normally it would be our stomach acid digesting our food but now it could also be the bacteria in our gut.

I find this post very interesting, well to me. I would love to learn more about this. So I will diffidently be checking that site out to see if they ever talk about guy bacteria again.

"Creative Common" is a another "All Rights Reserved"  but with some extra stuff, instead of not being able to do anything with the "All Rights Reserved" image, "Creative Commons" lets you use the image and you may do what you want with it unless it is stated that you cant. The theme I chose is Green. Below is six images relating to my theme and each image has a different "Creative Commons".

What is the purpose of a Blog?

Blogs have three purposes, they are to entertain, inform, and to persuade. Below is what I believe that fits into each topic.

http://www.eurogamer.net/ and 1000awesomethings.com are both blogs that are to entertain.

I chose these two blogs because they both have information that catches your eye and is very entertaining. The first site has information on upcoming games, some games that are scary, or fun, and they also have videos. The second site has pretty much what the URL says, it has one thousand random facts that are very entertaining, some are funny, others are weird.

lifehacker.com and www.engadget.com are both blogs that are to inform.

I then chose these two blogs because the information presented is very interesting. In the first site I chose, it is full of ways to "cheat" life, some of the things they write in there are very interesting. In the second site that I have chose, it is full of information about electronic devices. It is very useful and full of stuff that any reader will be interested in.

redstate.com and http://www.michaelmoore.com/blogger/mmflint/ are both blogs that are to persuade.

These two blogs are both blogs that fit into the topic persuade because they are both in a perspective of one person. The first blog is about people that would like to say in their point of view of all the recent news. The second blog is about a guy named Michael Moore, he likes to blog things about his life pretty much, so its in his point of view as well.

Haii. :D

Hello, my name is John. I'm a quiet person at first, like really quiet. But if I get really close to you, I'll be really annoying at times.

I honestly don't know how to make new friends, which is one of the reasons why I'm so quiet.

I love singing, but I don't sing in front of people.  I just sing at home or during class but quietly.

I'm a athletic person, I'll play any sport whenever I can, if its a sport I don't know how to play, I'll learn and eventually love it.

My hobbies are playing basketball and biking around. I love playing with my friends, its always fun.  I also love biking around because I always jump off the sidewalks and do awesome stuff with my bike.

My interest would definitely be photography. I started to love photography when I played around with my camera and got some pretty good shots.

That is all, bye!
